We’re thrilled to announce the official launch of INTERCULT, an exciting new initiative in adult education, supported by the Erasmus+ Programme under the Cooperation Partnership framework. The project kicked off on September 1, 2024, and will run for 30 months, concluding on February 28, 2027.
A Mission Rooted in Inclusion and Understanding
At its core, INTERCULT is about promoting inclusion, mutual understanding, and social cohesion in Europe’s increasingly diverse societies. The project focuses on strengthening the skills and competences of intercultural mediators—those who help bridge the gap between migrant communities and host societies.
By empowering these key individuals, INTERCULT aims to support the smoother integration of migrants, while also encouraging institutions to recognize and value the role of intercultural mediation in their work.
Who’s Behind INTERCULT?
The project is led by Slovenska Filantropija – Združenje za promocijo prostovoljstva (Slovenia), with the support of a dedicated consortium of partners from across Europe:
- FUTURA SOC CONS RL – Italy
- Cap Ulysse – France
- Szubjektív Értékek Alapítvány – Hungary
- InBáze, z. s. – Czechia
Together, these organizations bring extensive experience in migration, education, and community engagement.
What We Plan to Achieve
INTERCULT has a clear and ambitious roadmap. Our activities will include:
- Mapping good practices in intercultural mediation across Europe
- Conducting focus groups with mediators to identify needs, challenges, and gaps
- Designing a new, targeted training program for intercultural mediators
- Developing practical guidelines to help institutions and practitioners implement effective mediation strategies
Expected Results
By the end of the project, we aim to deliver:
- A collection of effective and replicable practices in intercultural mediation
- A comprehensive training program to build the capacities of current and future mediators
- Guidelines and tools that make intercultural mediation more accessible and impactful in practice
Ultimately, INTERCULT aspires to contribute to a society where migrants are more fully included and able to participate actively in public life.
