The Roma and Artists for Society project is funded by the EU, taking place between March 2021 – February 2023 in partnership with IQ Roma Servis (Czech Republic), Divé maky (Slovakia). and Subjective Values Foundation. The aim of the project is to increase the chances of the young Roma generation for dignified social involvement through creativity and art, as in Central Europe as a socially disadvantaged group they still face limited opportunities for education, personal development, participation and social recognition.
The objectives of the project are:
- to provide young Roma the skills and knowledge to become active and able to act in the community;
- to build a space for respectful dialogue between the marginalized group of Roma youth and the majority society;
- to demolish stereotypes, discrimination, social exclusion and hate speech;
- with the engagement of young Roma in civic life, it aims to help overcoming cycle of poverty and thus create a better world for the Roma community.
