The HelloMentor project ran between September 2017 and April 2019, with the aim of improving the level of CBC between citizens and organizations employing volunteers. We strengthened NGOs and other organizations employing volunteers in the CB region via capacity building that included workshops and the sharing of best practices; and also via training mentors with the aim of building a CB network of midlevel mentors to manage volunteers in the region.
We developed a bilingual online platform to connect volunteers with volunteering opportunities, and an e-learning training program for mentors. We also managed a volunteer exchange pilot. We carried out a social media and television campaign that promoted volunteering and nonprofit activities in the region.
The project was implemented within the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary Cross-Border Cooperation Programme with support from the European Union, with co-financing by the European Regional Development Fund.
